Sprat
Sprat fishing takes place mainly in the months from August until November. They are fished in shallow, coastal water by coastal vessels and landed after short fishing trips which allows for excellent quality. They are whole round frozen at grades of 40-45, 45- 50, 50-60 and 55-65 pieces per Kkilogram Killybegs is located just a short distance from the Sprat fishing grounds making it an ideal place for the processing of Sprats.
